      How to get a Sweden Work Visa?

      As you may already know, Sweden is one of the Schengen Area states; thus, the visa policy of Sweden allows nationals of various countries to enter, live and work in Sweden without a visa. Usually, it depends on your nationality, whether you need a visa for Sweden or not.

      1. For EU/EEA/Swiss nationals

      If you are an EU/EEA/Swiss national, you do not need a visa or a work permit to enter Sweden for work purposes. You are allowed to work, study or live in Sweden without need to apply for any additional permit. You only need a valid passport to enter the state.

      After you arrive in Sweden, you need to register yourself in the Swedish population at the Swedish Tax Agency and obtain a Swedish personal identity number.

      2. For Non-EU/EEA/Swiss nationals

      If you are a Non-EU/EEA/Swiss national, you need to apply for a Sweden Work Visa, if you want to work in Sweden. Before applying for a work visa, you must have an offer of employment from the Swedish employer and a work permit.

      Your employer in Sweden needs to apply for a work permit on your behalf. After you arrive in Sweden, you must apply for a residence permit, if you want to stay in the state for a longer period. In case, you are already living in the country legally, you can then apply for a work permit from Sweden.

      Note that without a valid Sweden Work Visa, you can not live or work in the country. In case you are a highly skilled worker, and you can apply for an EU Blue Card or Intra Corporate Transfer (ICT) Permit.
