      How to get a Romania Work Visa?

      All the nationals except EU/EEA/Swiss nationals who want to enter Romania for employment purposes need to apply for a Romania Work Visa (Romanian Employment Visa). It is a type of Romania long-stay visa, and it will allow you to remain in the state for longer than 90 days. 

      Before applying for a Romania Work Visa, you must have a work permit from the Romanian Inspectorate General for Immigration. Your employer in Romania needs to apply for a work permit at the Inspectorate General for Immigration (IGI) on your behalf.

      The Inspectorate General for Immigration (IGI) will process the request within 30 days. The process may be extended for more 15 days if further verification is needed. After you receive a work permit, you need to apply for the Romania Work Visa at the nearest Romania Embassy in your native country within 60 days.

      After you arrive in Romania, you need to apply for a Romanian residence permit. It will authorize you to legally stay in the country for longer than the 90 days. 

      Keep in mind if you are an EU/EEA/Swiss national and your duration of stay is longer than 90 days, you need to register your residence at a local office of the General Inspectorate for Immigration (IGI) in Romania and get a registration certificate.

      Note that you cannot apply for a residence permit if you entered the state with a Romanian short-stay visa.

      You must have the following documents to get a Romania Work Visa.

      1. A Completed Romania Work Visa application form

      2. Valid passport or travel documents

      3. Passport size photo

      4. Work permit

      5. Proof of accommodation in Romania

      6. A document stating the nature of your employment

      7. Travel medical insurance 

      8. Police clearance certificate from your native state

      9. Proof of enough financial means, i.e. a bank statement

      10. Health insurance document

      11. All the documents of educational qualifications and experience
