How to get an Italy Work Visa?

If you are a Non-EU national and want to work in Italy, you need to apply for an Italy Work Visa (National Visa or Type D-Visa). It is a type of Italian Long-Stay visa that will allow you to enter the state for employment purposes. After you arrive in Italy, you need to get a residence permit to stay and work in Italy within eight days to remain in the state for a longer period. 

Before applying for a work visa, you must have a job in Italy and a work permit (Nulla Osta). Your employer in Italy will need to apply for a work permit (Nulla Osta) at the Immigration Office on your behalf. If the immigration office of Italy grants you a work permit, your employer will send the permit to you.

But if you are a resident of an EU country, you can enter the state and start working without any authorization to work (work permit). You only need to get a “declaration of presence” from a local police office in Italy within eight days of your arrival, and if you want to stay more than three months, you need to apply for a residence permit.
