Who does not need a Vietnam visa?

If you are a national of any following country, you can visit Vietnam without a visa for a specified period.

If you are a BNO (British National Overseas) passport holder, you are not eligible for the 15-day free visa exemption. You need to apply for a visa to visit Vietnam.

Important Note: All the ABTC (APEC Business Travel Card) holders with valid passports are exempt from a Vietnam visa for a stay of up to 60 days.

What is a Vietnam Tourist Visa?

If you are not from any visa-exempt countries listed above, you will need to apply for a Vietnam Tourist Visa. Usually, it is valid for up to 15 to 30 days. 

Note that: In some instances, you can also apply for a three-month visa for tourism purposes.

Vietnam Tourist Visa On Arrival

If you want a multiple-entry visa or a stay of more than 30 days, you will need to apply for a Visa On Arrival. You will need to have the following documents to get a Vietnam Tourist Visa On Arrival.

1. Completed Vietnam Tourist Visa Application Form

2. Valid passport with the validity for up to six months

3. Passport size photo

4. Enough financial funds for the visa fee payment (25 USD to 50 USD) 

5. An approval letter from a Vietnamese embassy

If the Vietnamese embassy is near you, then you can submit your photo, visa application form, passport, and visa fee there. But if you are unable to reach a Vietnamese embassy, there are trusted services online who can provide you with a valid approval letter. Bring this approval letter and a visa application form with your other documents to the Visa On Arrival counter at the airport when you land in Vietnam.

• For single-entry: US$25
• For multiple-entry: US$50

Note that the visa fee payment must be in either USD or VND.

Yes, you can apply for a Vietnam Tourist Visa online. It is a single-entry visa with validity for up to 30 days. You can apply for a Vietnam e-Visa only if you are from any of the following 80 countries.
