Note that if you are a holder of HK Permanent Identity Cards or HK Re-entry Permits, you are allowed to remain in Macau for up to a year without a visa.
What is a Macau Tourist Visa?
If you are not from any of the listed above Macau visa-exempt states, you need to apply for a Macau Tourist Visa to visit Macau. It will allow you to enter the state for short-term purposes. You can get a Macau Visa On Arrival or through a Chinese Embassy or Consulate in your native country.
Note that if you are a citizen of Bangladesh, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Vietnam, you can not apply for a Macau Visa On Arrival. Thus, you need to apply for a visa at the nearest Chinese Embassy or Consulate.
What will be the requirements for a Macau Tourist Visa?
You need the following documents to get a Macau visa.
1. A Completed Macau visa application form
2. Passport size photos
3. Valid passport or travel document
4. Proof of enough financial means, i.e. a bank statement
5. Evidence of accommodation in Macau
6. A cover letter that shows the purpose of travel to Macau
7. Payment of the visa fee

The cost of a general Macau visa is about USD 30. If the visa application is related to the Macau Immigration Department, then an additional fee of approximately USD 20 will be charged.
What will be the processing time for a Macau Tourist Visa?
The processing time for a general Macau visa is about five working days. But if the visa application is related to the Macau Immigration Department, then it will take about three weeks for visa processing.
What will be the validity of a Macau visa?
- For single entry: Up to 14 days of stay within three months
- For double entries: Up to 14 days of stay per entry within three months
- For multiple entries: Up to 14 days of stay per entry within six months
