There are some of the most renowned educational institutions, which makes it a perfect place to study for international students. In Indonesia, the cost of studying is comparatively low. For most study programs, the tuition fees range from $3,000 to $6,100. But some subjects costs more. i.e. medicine subjects.

      How to get an Indonesia Student Visa?

      Everyone who wants to study in Indonesia needs to apply for an Indonesia Student Visa (VITAS). It will allow you to enter the state for study purposes. Before applying for a student visa, you must have two documents:

      • An acceptance letter from the concerned educational institution in Indonesia
      • A study permit from the Indonesian Ministry of Education (After getting the acceptance letter you can apply for a study permit)

      Your concerned educational institution will help you to get a study permit. After the Ministry of Education granted the study permit, they will forward it to the Immigration Department Head Office; thus, your student visa can be issued. Once the Immigration Department sends the visa approval to the Indonesia Embassy or Consulate in your native country, you can apply for an Indonesian Student Visa.

      After you arrive in Indonesia with an Indonesia Student Visa (VITAS), you need to change the VITAS (Limited Stay Visa) into a KITAS (temporary residency permit) at the Immigration Department of Indonesia within 30 days. You need to submit the following documents at the Immigration Department of Indonesia to get KITAS.

      • Your valid passport
      • Acceptance letter from the educational institution 
      • The recommendation letter from the university in Indonesia
      • A copy of of the study permit
      • Your CV and academic documents
      • Proof of financial stability 

      After receiving KITAS, you need to get an STM (Police Report Letter) from the local police department and register with the population office of the local municipality. Then, you will receive an SKPPS (Certificate of Registration for Temporary Resident). In that case, you need the following documents:

      • A copy of passport
      • Copy of your KITAS
      • Passport-size photo
      • A request letter for the Certificate of Police Registration Card from your institution
      • A certificate of sponsorship from the institution

       

      Requirements for an Indonesia Study Permit

      You must have the following documents to apply for a study permit.

      1. Complete study permit application form

      2. Copy of your passport 

      3. Two passport-sized photos

      4. Proof that shows enough financial means

      5. Health certificate

      6. Your CV

      7. A copy of your acceptance letter from the concerned educational institution in Indonesia

      8. A cover letter from the Indonesian Embassy in your native country 

      9. A copy of your academic documents or transcript 

      10. A recommendation letter from the educational institution in Indonesia

      You must have the following documents to apply for an Indonesia Student Visa (VITAS).

      1. Completed Indonesia Student Visa (VITAS) Application Form

      2. Valid passport

      3. Two passport-size photos

      4. A copy of the recommendation letter from the concerned educational institution 

      5. Copy of your academic documents or transcript 

      6. Your CV

      7. A copy of the acceptance letter from an educational institution in Indonesia

      8. Health insurance document

      9. A bank statement stating enough financial means

      The validity of an Indonesian student visa depends on the period of your study course. 

      Processing time for an Indonesia Student Visa

      It will take around two months for the whole process of getting an Indonesia Student Visa (VITAS) to obtaining KITAS in Indonesia.

       

      Can you work with an Indonesia Student Visa?

      No, you are not allowed to work in Indonesia with a student visa. You can work in the state only if you have a valid work permit and work KITAS.
